Telehealth is cool
I've had some pain and redness on my foot for 3 weeks. It seemed like an injury but I definitely didn't hurt myself, it even started during a week where I didn't have soccer. This was my third chance to use my insurance's telehealth program (the first two were when I had covid in May). Unlike the urgent care down the street which is always busy and has a maximum number of covid patients they will take in any given day, I have always been seen immediately via telehealth.
This time the doc that came on had superb bedside manner, very classy and personable dude. I showed him my foot through the camera, answered a few questions, and had meds in my hand an hour or two later. Foot's doing a lot better now.
It's rare that you see healthcare adopt technology in a way that doesn't suck, so it was refreshing to have this experience.
Sorry Phoebs, I've got meat to eat
On Tuesday, I had dinner with a couple buddies I met through my bitcoin meetup. It was delicious but I missed one of Jenna's "centering" meetings for the first time. That's a program Kaiser has where you get to know a team of docs and after your appointments there's a zoom chat with them and a group of moms-to-be that are all due around the same time. I like going to that because they give a lot of info about what it will be like during and after labor.
On Tuesdays, Jenna goes into the office, so between that and the doctor appointments, it's usually a busy day for her. And since I went out to dinner, this was a rare occurrence where we didn't see each other all day âšī¸.
Maybe this blog is named wrong
I'm having fun experimenting with this blog. One day I'll get Jenna to contribute more beyond a quote. But until then, you're stuck a short quote and past-tense third-person experience.
Will you help me trim my toenails? -Jenna

Last week, my niece Sophie got a hold of Brent's phone and wanted to send me a couple of very important messages on Signal. She also discovered there is an easy to use voice recording feature. (Side note: if you don't have Signal, you should get it. It's just as seamless as imessage and whatsapp but it's more private, more secure, and works on all platforms. Android users can also use the app for all SMS messages). She sent me the following:
Note: I can't embed video/audio on this platform so you'll be taken to a new page

P.S. I was today years old when I realized that I have to manually select email subscribers or else they don't get notified. Haha!
