Busy Week

It's been a busy week! Had my work happy hour on Monday, doctor appt Tuesday, dinner with Kerri for her bday Wednesday, my Bitcoin meetup Thursday, Jenna's last day at work Friday, and my interview for a podcast on Saturday. Sunday will be a belated bday lunch and soccer.

The meetup on Thursday went pretty well! I gave a presentation on running a Bitcoin node and using it to create a Dead Man's Switch. They're both super easy and very useful. You can see the presentation slides for yourself (press "P" to see the presenter notes). I got a lot of good feedback, there were ~25 people there including some folks vising from SLO and FL. I've been doing a fundraiser to help pay for the meetup account but haven't been pushing it so hard lately since we're paid up through December. Still, I sold a hat and a pin, and gave away two more pins (I usually do for out-of-towners). Jenna designed the logo and a couple of Bitcoiners worked on the custom hat and pin.

A rep from Fold gave away some free Bitcoin. They have an app and a debit card where you can earn rewards in Bitcoin (because points and miles are dumb). A lot of people thought the FinalMessage Dead Man's Switch was very interesting, check it out their faq. The interview I did this morning was also Bitcoin related. Shane has been interviewing Bitcoin meetup organizers about what their group is like, etc. If you want to hear me rant for an hour, you can watch or listen to the interview.

As I'm out and about, Jenna's been watching an interesting show in Netflix called Extraordinary Attorney Woo, it's a Korean language show about an autistic attorney and how she navigates the world. I've seen a few episodes, it's pretty cute. I generally have a hard time with subtitled shows because I have to be staring at the screen pretty consistently, so if Rosie wants to fetch I have to do so without looking at her haha.

Rosie and I have run 24 miles so far this week, and will probably do 4 or 5 more tonight after it cools off. It's a lot of work to get her energy out, but it's also one of the best parts of my day, and her's too I'm sure. Sometimes she'll grab on to palm tree bark and just hold it in her mouth as we go, she's silly.

After the interview this morning I went to Escondido to get some Bermuda grass for Rosie's porch pottie, as the Harmony grass from Home Depot never lasts longer than a month and I'm tired of changing it so frequently. Hopefully it lasts longer.

If you feel so inclined, sign the guestbook and subscribe via email or rss. Have a good day! Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.
